We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with the NYC Department of Sanitation to provide compost education at each of our clean up days.
At each Curb Your Litter clean up day in 2015, a representative from either the NYC Department of Sanitation or the Brooklyn outpost of the NYC Compost Project will attend to teach volunteers about the NYC Organics Collection program that is about to launch in Greenpoint.
Volunteers will now get the chance to ask questions about what goes into the little brown bins most of us are will receive in June. We’ll also learn about where your food waste will go, and the multiple environmental benefits of composting your food waste.
